My choice for the "Shoalhaven Wonders" is Point Perpendicular's Historical Lighthouse. Jervis Bay is the "Heart" of the Shoalhaven and Point Perpendicular can be seen from most areas in Jervis Bay, making for iconic photographs, whether that be a brilliant sunrise, magical sunny beach days, dreamy sunsets or under the pure crisp night sky. The Lighthouse construction finished in 1889 and operated up until 1993 when it was replaced with a modern automated system, located on the lighthouse grounds. Thanks to the local people associated with 'Lighthouses Australia' the lighthouse and the keepers cottages have been restored and maintained to their pristine glory. My photo was taken during last years International Lighthouse weekend where you can see the lighthouse operating under its light, an amazing site to see, and also enter the Lighthouse and learn some of its history from the knowledgeable committee members. Jervis Bay has so many beautiful places to explore all situated under the gaze of the Historic Point Perpendicular Lighthouse.
